At Origine we’re passionate about sharing our love of French cuisine & culture.

Ben learned from masters how to extract flavour and get the best out of ingredients.


For us the French are the originators of fine cuisine. They’ve served Kings and Queens, opened the first restaurants, turned cooks into chefs and taken the idea of eating to live, to one of living to eat.
So we’ve gone back to our roots and created a modern French brasserie that meets phenomenal New Zealand produce and laidback service – to bring you an entirely unique French Kiwi dining experience.

Origine is open for lunch & dinner, 7 days a week from midday.

Poni is an all-day Asian-inspired eatery managed by David Lee. (The Candyshop, Gochu, Camper Coffee, Good dog bad dog, Greendoor Pizza).  With some of the best food & views Commercial Bay has to offer, this is THE spot for brunch and dinner.

Roti Bros was born from an obsession with pies and roti paratha. Between stodgy pastry or average filling, too often the classic Kiwi pie experience led to disappointment. When you’re after a great burger, you shouldn’t have to wait and Shake Out have chosen not to offer customisations to keep the kitchen moving fast. Tart – Plant based. Planet friendly. Tart bakes delicious European-style bread, pasty, pies, doughnuts and sandwiches fresh every day. All our food is plant based – free of animal products. Tart will sell baked delicacies by day and gourmet vegan pizzas by night.

Building on Rodd & Gunn's ethos of sourcing only the finest materials, The Lodge Bar presents a carefully curated offering of New Zealand's finest wines to be enjoyed with our intricately prepared food menu. The culmination of these elements is to create a genuine experience that is true to the heritage and essence of Rodd & Gunn. 

Nobody likes the token vege burger, and especially not us. That’s why we set out to make the best plant-based burgers this wonderful planet has ever seen.

We quit our office jobs, built a food truck out of scrap metal and recycled pallets, spent a bit of time perfecting the patties, and then took our burgers to the road.

Turns out we aren’t alone in our passion for indulgent vegan burgers. In 2019, we opened our first store in Grey Lynn, and Wise Boys Commercial Bay followed soon after. So if you’re looking to eat for the good of the planet without having to sacrifice delicious burgers, you know where to find us!
