This July, Commercial Bay is turning the spotlight on our Harbour Eats family, with the debut of the Fork and Fame Awards.
Located on Level 2, Harbour Eats is Commercial Bay’s culinary playground. A bustling hawker-style food hall serving up everything from bao to burgers, donuts to (hot) dogs and everything in between. With 25 different vendors offering fresh favourites 7 days a week, the time has come to celebrate all there is on offer, from quick bites to the cult favourites.
The Fork and Fame Awards will celebrate the incredible talent and creativity of our talented food vendors while also giving our community the chance to champion the dishes they love most. It’s a fun, flavour-filled celebration of what makes Harbour Eats such a unique and vibrant part of Commercial Bay.
Running from Monday 30th June to Thursday 31st July 2025, the inaugural Fork and Fame Awards will celebrate the dishes that Aucklanders keep coming back for, across 6 key categories, designed to unearth what the people really want;
Bang for Buck – the best value dish that doesn’t skimp on flavour
Best Date Eats – a dish made for sharing, impressing, or flirting over
Don’t Need Meat – a standout plant-based or vegetarian option
Don’t Wear White – gloriously indulgent, messy and worth it
Save Room for Dessert – the sweet treat that ends your meal on a high
Zero Forks Given – the best dish to eat with your hands (no shame, no cutlery, no regrets)
A judging panel made up of some of the city’s most discerning palates will uncover the winning dishes across 6 key categories. MasterChef NZ winner and modern Chinese cuisine connoisseur Sam Low, lawyer by day and food blogger by night @fattab, Tabitha Lorck, alongside leading food writer and founder of online food community Lazy Susan, Anna King-Shahab and acclaimed chef and mastermind behind Commercial Bay’s own Advieh, Gareth Stewart. Every bite will be carefully considered across six tasty award categories.
But wait, there’s more. Alongside the core categories, two iconic Kiwi favourites, Best Foods Mayo and Pic’s Peanut Butter, are presenting their own categories to find your next creative craving.
Creamy, beloved and a favourite on Kiwi tables, Best Foods Mayo celebrates deliciousness with The Mayo ‘Mazing Award.
From humble beginnings in a Nelson garage to becoming a steadfast Kiwi staple, Pic’s Peanut Butter now dishes out its own moreish honour, The Golden Peanut Award.
Vendors who choose to enter either award will showcase the ingredient in a creative new dish, available to purchase from Monday 30th June, with The Mayo ‘Mazing Award being judged by MasterChef NZ grand finalist Elliot McClymont, and The Golden Peanut Award being judged by Pic’s Peanut Butter Founder Pic Picot.
Dishes will be available to purchase and try from Monday 30th June.
Voting for People's Choice is open from Monday 30th June.
And you can win, too!
The People’s Choice Award puts the power in the hands (and mouths) of the Harbour Eats community.
Diners can scan QR codes located throughout the precinct or enter below to vote for your favourite dish. Every vote is an entry to win “lunch for a year”, a $5,000 Commercial Bay dining voucher that’s guaranteed to keep you fed and happy.
The Fork and Fame Award winners for 2025 will be announced from Monday 21st July. Ts & Cs apply.
